The index to the Geissenhaimer Ledgers was crucial to locating the daughters of Christian Stohr Sr and wife Anna, and to linking them to the family. It lists the siblings as witnesses to marriages and to baptisms of their children. It also gives addresses which puts them in close proximity to each other.
Examples of some entries are Rosina Stohr married to Jacob Lincks with witnesses Christian Stoehr and Hannah (maybe Anna?) Stoehr; the marriage of John Stohr to Barbara Young with witness Adam Stohr; the baptism of Catherine Menges, daughter of Lewis Menges and Angeline Menges with witness John Stohr.

Rev Frederick W. Geissenhainer was the assistant pastor at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church from 1827 to 1840, serving the English speaking congregation, while his father preached to the German congregation. Rev F. W. Geissenhainer transcribed the events he presided over from the church books into two ledgers. In 1841 he became the pastor of the United German Evangelical Lutheran Church (later St. Paul’s) and recorded three additional volumes.
It is important to remember that these ledgers were his personal records of the events he presided over and NOT the actual church registers which may contain more information.
