Christian died 11 May 1865 at New York City, New York Co, New York. It is presumed that he was buried in one of the family lots at Green-Wood Cemetery at Brooklyn, Kings Co, New York {SEE NOTE BELOW}. On-line records for Green-Wood are incomplete. They do have complete records at the cemetery and we have requested further information from the cemetery. His death notice was published in the New York Herald on 12 May 1865. We have been using the website FultonHistory.com to obtain copies of articles published in The Herald. Unfortunately, all issues from April 1 to June 30 1866 are missing from this website. We have been unable to locate another source.

Brooklyn, NY This Green-Wood Cemetery (Brooklyn, NY) research shows Christian Stohr, Senior was indeed buried in the same lot as his spouse Anna R Stohr. The lot was owned by their son Adam. I have asked the cemetery to put Christian Senior's burial into their online database. The research shows Christian died of (likely) tuberculosis at the age of 70 yrs, 11 mos., 24 days. His date of birth is thus calculated as 17 May 1794.
