Christian Stohr's Declaration of Intent to become a United States citizen was filed at LeRay, Jefferson Co, New York. His Declaration states:
State of New York, County of Jefferson - I Christian Stohr now of the town of LeRay in said county do on oath declare --- and say that I am thirty nine years old. That I am by occupation a farmer. That I was born in the town of Tullingen within the Kindom of Wurtenberg a subject of the government thereof - that I emigrated therefrom to the County of Jefferson aforesaid in September in the year 1831 where I have since resided. That it is my bonafide intention to become a citizen of the United States of America and to renounce all allegiance to every foreign prince, power, potentate, state of sovereignty whatsoever and --- to the King of Wurtenburgh.
